For someone who really loves Gucci, I am actually really disappointed with the new fragrance Gucci Guilty Pour Homme. In fact, I really love the woman’s version when it was launch and I was eagerly waiting for the male version to be released. The wait was however, not worth it.
To me the only thing I like is the fragrance bottle. It is crafted of cold metal and heavy glass, making an impression of masculinity and luxury. Paired with the feminine edition, all splendid and golden, cabochon grey male bottle seems very elegant and alluring. The middle of the bottle is decorated with a metallic Gucci sign, transparent to reveal the fragrant fluid.
According to their press notes, “The fragrance opens with lavender and lemon, leaving enough space for very appealing scents of orange blossom. Basic tones are supported by warm woody accords of cedar and patchouli, offering a firm but exciting and soft coloring to the whole composition.”. Well, I tried the fragrance over the weekend at a fragrance counter , but felt that it lacks originality. In fact, I cannot recall the smell right now if you ask me, and I pride myself as someone who is very good at picking up the scent of fragrance.
Ok, so I thought that since I do not fancy this scent, I just give it a miss and not blog about it, but this was until I saw the TV commercial of the fragrance, which fuels my disappointment that the launch was not original and lacks sincerity for their loyal male fans. Please take the look at the two videos below , the first is for Gulity Pour Homme and the second one for Gulity launched earlier. (I would suggest that you sync them together and play it together at the same time.)

Did you see it? I mean WTF! Don’t they look 95% the same? I can’t help but feeling that it was such a let down. I really do not expect this coming from Gucci.
From the notes , it says ” Guilty Pour Homme is carefully designed for men who know what they want and who get what they want. The charismatic alpha male, a true magnet for ladies, is represented in this provocative and seductive composition.” Seriously?
