David Beckham launches Bodywear Collection for H&M

By on January 05,2012 | one response

International soccer star and fashionisto David Beckham has launched a new underwear line for H&M. The collection is called “Bodywear” and will features boxers, briefs, pajamas and t-shirts schedule to hit the store from 2 February( certainly hope they will carry it in the Singapore store as well).

This is not the first time he has posed for an underwear ad (remember the famous Armani ad of him laying sexily on the bed?) and he stripped down again to his underwear, revealing his rock-hard physique and his, uh, assets in black and white.

What made this extra special is that this collection is designed specially by him and his creative team and he has cleverly picked H&M as the retail partner, showing him not just as a soccer star but also an entrepreneurial fashion icon. Beckham told WWD in an interview that he was inspired to create his own line after his collaboration with Armani when he saw how much potential there was when his campaign helped the brand grew its turnover by 15million euros in 2008.

“Working with a team has always been a key part of my life and I found that to be the same when developing this range. Collectively with my design team we spent time working on the feel, fit and style to ensure the product is not only something I would wear but one which I would be proud to put my name to. I always want to challenge myself and this was such a rewarding experience for me. I’m very happy with the end result and I hope H&M’s male customers will be as excited as I am.” – David Beckham
