I was recently introduced to the Murdock London- a dedicated brand of product range of fragrances, skincare and accessories for London’s most dapper men seeking individuality and flair, which was recently launched at the hip lifestyle store The Shop at Bluebird in London. The Murdock London collection is developed to equip the modern gentleman with everything he needs to prepare himself for a day in the office or an evening’s entertainment.
Now what strike me most about Murdock London is that is actually a premier barbers and gentleman’s grooming specialist with four stores in the London offering unique barbering services (like haircut and luxury wet shaves, for instance), classic grooming products and artisan accessories. The brand was established by Brendan Murdock in 2006 in Shoreditch to create a masculine and stylish alternative to unisex salons for modern gentlemen. Murdock London has since expanded to three more stores across London and firmly established itself as a primary destination for the new gent-about-town.
This concept caters to a niche group of male customers who appreciate and are willing to pay for this unique experience, but will the growing trend of men putting more interest in their grooming regime, I believe that the demand for such men-only salon will increase. In fact, I think it will be really cool if we could have something like this in Singapore, after all the concept of a male barber shop is nothing new here.
