2011 is the year Gucci celebrates its 90th Anniversary and the Men’s Fall fashion show earlier this  year was the kickstart to the string of celebrations that follow.

As we starts getting into the Fall this last quarter of the year, let’s revisit the highlights of the show with the video and a selection of some key looks that I have selected.

For the Men’s Fall-Winter 2011/2012, Frida bring the Gucci men back to the glamour rock-star era with hint of the 70s that looks so sexy on Gucci.  The cornerstone of the collection was a lean two-button suit and its trouser flaring slightly over the shoe. It still retained a decidedly Italian flare using sexy slightly feminine colors like soft pink and lilac with gray, stone and purple. With Faces-era Rod Stewart croaking over the sound system, the connection with a vintage Gucci moment was inescapable.

“I was thinking of iconic, stylish men like Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger, but I didn’t want to be referential or nostalgic. I wanted a new story.” – Frida Giannini on the men that inspire the collection.

Always been a Gucci fan myself, I am also particularly drawn to these few key pieces of from the bags collection. They are definitely on my wishlist now!

Love the size and the flap over buckle, slight resembrance to the Mulberry and Birkin.

Love that Gucci has replaced the GG Monogram with this more subtle pattern

The men clutch. Not something that every man can pull off though.
