For spring summer 2012, the Gucci man establishes a new sartorial intelligentsia that revisits the posh world of Savile Row during the Sixties and Seventies – in the world of a Gentlemen’s Club populated by handsome white dukes, aristocrats, dandies and singers, noblemen and rock stars.

Frida Giannini created a beautiful collection for the gentlemen with a mix of classic and casual edge. Instead of going for bold brights color common in the spring summer season, she opted for a more understated neutral tones but paired it with sharp tailoring as seen in the jackets, pied-de-poule prints and Prince of Wales checks. She cleverly contrasted the sartorial blazers with collarless shirts or worn without ties, and mixed the slim silhouettes with a pleated pant cropped at the ankle. No details were left out. From the accessories, I love in particular the Maxi Bag in geometric shape. (Hint: Look out for my up-coming Spring Summer Accessories round-up on the must-haves bags and shoes in coming season.)

The Spring Summer 2012 Menswear collection is really true to the Gucci spirit and attitude – that rockstar glamor, dressy yet not demanding.
