Opening Day 4 of MFW was Singapore label, Reckless Ericka, returning for the second consecutive year staging a solo show. This is also the only show featuring a Singapore label throughout the MFW. Sadly though, of all the shows I have have seen thus far, this is one that I found disappointing and for a lack of better word, reckless.

The collection and show played with the theme of androgyny – and I’ve never had a problem with that – by having a mixture of male and female models wearing wigs (some not flattering ones), skirts, and playing with different textiles, patterns and checks. It seemed like a really good idea for a cutting edge fashion show, but what I feel was delivered was a collection that lack connection and not wearable, especially in Singapore. Quoting from the PR release that called it “forward-thinking concept” – but I think that’s ‘society talk’ meaning they don’t get it.
