Do you use lip balm or are you one of those guys who feel it’s too much to ask of you to pay some
attention to lip care? Our lips are very important for speech and in the unlikely event you haven’t
realised already, it’s also an erogenous zone. That said, many of us take our lips for granted. When
they get dry, we feel a mere cursory licking of the lips with our tongue will do (don’t do that for it’d
only make your lips feel worse). And let’s be honest, very few men would even consider paying for a lip balm. They would most likely just use a free one, take their partner’s or simply live with their lips being wrinkly and chapped. Not going to lip shame here but you know who you are. So why is lip care that important, you may ask? Well, the simple answer lies in the discomfort and pain caused by the cracking and peeling from them being overly dehydrated. By then, you’d need more than just a lip balm to restore the health of your lips. And by the way, nobody likes being sandpapered when they’re kissing, so just keep those smackers of yours well moisturised, won’t ya?

So let’s all be sensible adults and invest a couple of dollars in a lip balm, shall we? Here are three of
the best lip balms that will provide long lasting hydration to your sexy puckers.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

This is hands down, one of my favourite lip balms ever. There is a reason why online reviews for Jack Black lip balm are always so glowing and positive. And that is because of its strong hydration
property. Unless you’re in a really dry place, reapplication throughout the day is kept to a minimum with this product. This balm is dispensed from an easy squeeze tube and it goes on clear and matte.
It also boasts of an SPF25 with the active chemical sunscreen ingredients avobenzone and
octinoxate. The company is cruelty-free so you can feel good using it knowing that no cuddly bunny had to suffer just to make your lips feel better.

Paula’s Choice Lip Body Treatment Balm

This is one of the many bestselling products from Paula’s Choice and the months-long waiting list is a testament to it (they’ve just restocked, so hurry!). This balm comes in a solid format and it goes on clear. It doesn’t create a waxy sensation and it applies matte. This is also a two-in-one product as you can use the balm on dry areas of your body such as your cuticles, elbows or knees. Here’s
another bonus for all you animal lovers out there. Paula’s Choice is also a cruelty-free company. That said, the one downside of this product is that it comes in a little jar with a screw-on lid. This means that you’d have to stick your grubby fingers in to get to the product. One quick fix is to make sure your hands are washed clean before you apply it. But, you already do that anyway, don’t you?

Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Organic Lip Balm

This lip balm is an excellent choice for those of you who might be allergic to petrolatum, a semisolid mixture of hydrocarbons that’s derived from petroleum during the refining process. This is a common ingredient that’s added to lip balms to increase its emollient quality. While petrolatum has been approved for over-the-counter use by the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) and many have lauded petrolatum for its supposed healing properties for wounds and cuts, others have chosen to steer clear of it for its bad reputation of clogging pores and too-close-for-comfort association with petroleum. Instead of petrolatum, other organic emollients with moisturising qualities have been added to this balm such as persea gratissima (avocado) oil, beeswax and simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil. The ingredients used are not only organic, they are also fair trade. Similar to Paula’s Choice Lip & Body Treatment Balm, this balm is also applicable on other dry spots of your body, such as your elbows, cuticles, hands and feet. Lastly, this product is also cruelty- free as with all other products from Dr. Bronner’s, so not only will your lips feel great, your conscience will do as well.
