If there is one brand that’s a master of making bold decadent fashion statements, Versace will come second to none. The brand has the wonderful ability to ‘always’ injects a good dose of male sexuality – think hunky muscular models- paired with its luxurious collection of clothing and accessories on the runway – the Versace runway shows are always something to lookout for.

For this coming AW13/14 collection, Donatella draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of the photographs of Amy Arbus, the films of Norman Mailer, Michael Jackson, Nineties rap stars and Maharajas crossed with New Romantics…

Everything is amplified. Big is Beautiful. Volumes are exaggerated for effect. Prints are bold and colourful.

My favourite has got to be the hand painting suits with bold colourful motifs.  Decadent fabrics are intrinsic to Versace, and we see lots of shaved mink, fox, breitschwanz, cashmere and baby camel in this collection. We also see a lot of prints from animals prints to more avant garde motifs, and a reinterpretation of  some traditional print for menswear such as the checks, pinstripes, herringbone and Prince of Wales.

Well, Versace is not for everyone, you are either a fan …or not.

Here are some looks that stands out for me from the runway.
